Serving total beach vibes, a parking lot turned patio opened in Toronto this week, and it’s a must-visit before summer ends.
In collaboration with several local restaurants, the Gerrard Street Market, located in the area of Gerrard Street and Jones Avenue is a new spot to try enticing foods and cold brews.
The lot is covered in sand, beach chairs, and patio umbrellas to feel like you’re lounging on the beach.
In a joint effort between Two Cats Cannabis Co., The Vatican, Poor Romeo, The Dive Shop and PYMBO Investments, this epic patio welcomes guests while ensuring physical distancing is in effect.
The patio also offers menu items from 241 Pizza, Com Tam Pho, Pinkerton’s, La Cubana, Hand Pulled Noodles, Hype Food & Yard Sale and there are even more to come.
With the help of Toronto’s CafeTO program, more patios in the city are able to turn unlikely spots such as this and provide additional safe dining spaces for restaurants and bars affected by the pandemic.
According to the city, CaféTO currently supports more than 660 restaurants in Toronto, expanding dining space, patios for physical distancing.
The new spot has also teamed up with ordering app Ambassador, offering contactless ordering and payment to get food delivered right to the table.
