TORONTO – Hundreds of Toronto cyclist hit the streets Monday morning for Bike to Work Day.
The event coincides with Bike Month which runs until June 25.
A number of cycling focused activities are planned throughout the Greater Toronto Area including in Burlington, Peel, York and Durham Region.
Bike Month brings together families, artists, commuters and community groups to promote cycling.
At least one Toronto advocacy group wants the city to adopt a rule that would allow cyclists to roll through stop signs.
Cycle Toronto executive director Jared Kolb tells the Toronto Star the rule is currently in place in Idaho, which also allows cyclists to go through a red light after stopping.
