The GTA is bracing for another winter storm, with the potential for heavy snow, freezing rain and ice pellets accompanied by gusting winds.

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm watch for the region that includes Toronto, calling for 15-20 centimetres of snow and ice accumulations.

The national weather agency said the snow will start early Tuesday morning, which will then mix with or change to ice pellets later in the day. There is also a risk of freezing rain.

Since the high on Tuesday will be near 0 C, the type of precipitation will depend on the temperature.

With the wind gusting to 80 km/h, the blowing snow will add to the treacherous driving conditions.

The storm system is expected to leave the region by Wednesday.
