Spring has finally arrived in Ontario and in no time summer will be here too! After the rough winter we just went through we're due for some hot, sunny weather and that's just what we're going to get.

This kind of weather makes all of us want to get outside and appreciate the beauty and nature that surrounds us. The best way to appreciate the natural beauty that's so abundant in Ontario is to get on one of the numerous bike trails.

There's tons of bike trails in Ontario that offer stunning views of waterfronts, lush forests, serene farmland, rushing waterfalls and so much more! These trails are pretty easy and many can be done by beginner bikers no problem.


14. Martin Goodman Trail // Toronto

This stunning path allows you to bike along the shimmering waterfront in Toronto. It's a 56 km paved trail that's made for long distance bike rides or runs. It will take you all the way from the Humber Bay Arch in the west end to Rouge River in the east end! You definitely don't have to travel the entire way though, just pick a spot to hop on and get riding.

13. Hilton Falls Conservation Area // Milton

If you're into a little more intense biking trails, then the mountain biking trails through Hilton Falls Conservation Area are perfect for you! There's 18 km worth of trails throughout this area that will take you over bridges, through forests, and past rushing waterfalls!

12. Hamilton to Brantford Rail Trail // Hamilto

This is definitely one of the most low-key trails on this list because it's a super easy ride. A railroad used to connect Hamilton to Brantford and now it's been turned into an off-road trail to bike between the two cities. The trail is 32 km one way but if you want to make it easier you can hop on for only the Dundas Valley portion which starts near McMaster University and is only 5.5 km one way.

11. Welland Canal Parkway Trail // St. Catharines

This paved, 9 km trail from St. Catharines to Thorold is the perfect place for a summer bike ride. You'll get up-close views of the working ships on the waterway right beside the trail and you can make pit stops along the way at the observation decks and lock viewing complex!

10. Savanna Biking Trail // Grand Bend

The Savannah Bike Trail will take you through the stunning beach park called Pinery Provincial Park that sits on Lake Huron. The 14 km loop will take you past lush forests, rushing rivers, marsh woodland areas and so much more! There's tons of spots to stop along the way for picnics and to explore the area.

9. Kate Pace Way // North Bay

The stunning Kate Pace Way trail was named after the Olympic downhill skier, Kate Pace. It's a 12 km trail that will take you along the waterfront of Lake Nipissing and through lush forest trails. It's a great, easy trail for beginners if you're in the North May area.

This is probably the shortest bike trail on this list, since it's only a 4 km total loop. The trail will take you through the Wildwood Conservation Area which has a mix of hilly and flat terrain that's great for beginner mountain bikers.

If you're living in our country's beautiful Capital the 31 km pathway along the shimmering Ottawa River is the perfect place to bike this summer. You can start at the ByTown Museum, bike along to the Ottawa Locks to watch the boats enter the Rideau Canal and then continue past the Parliament Buildings!

The stunning Crothers Woods in East York are a beautiful hidden secret within the city limits of Toronto. There's 10 km worth of criss-crossing trails within these woods with sights of over 100 year old trees, meadows, and slopes through the lush forest.

The waterfront in Burlington is one of the prettiest in all of Ontario! They've got a paved bike trial that will take you past 8 waterfront parks, a sandy beach, a pier and promenade and so much more! The length of this trail is about 7 km and is super easy for beginners.

The Friendship Trail extends for around 16 km across Fort Eerie, sitting parallel to the shimmering Lake Eerie! The trail is incredibly picturesque that will take you through lush forests, quaint villages, quiet residential areas, and stunning watersheds.

The 14 km SC Johnson Trail runs between the two towns of Paris and Brantford, Ontario. You'll travel through farm fields, prairie grasslands, and scenic lookout spots over the Grand River.

The Prescott-Russell trail is a super long, 72 km trail that runs from St. Eugene to Hammond near the Quebec border. You definitely don't have to complete the whole trail and can hop on and off wherever you want. You'll pass through both farmland and forest giving you tons of beautiful landscapes to admire along the way.
