10 Things You Can Do At Home And Around Toronto This Weekend (June 12-14)

JUNE 12 2020

The weekend is here! If you're looking for ideas on what to do at home and around the city, don't worry - we've got you covered.

Here are 10 things that you can do at home and around Toronto this weekend!

CELEBRATE THE ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE RAPTORS CHAMPIONSHIP WIN

Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of the Raptors championship win! We're thinking the same thing - how has it already been a year? And at the same time - how has it only been a year?! Either way, it's time to celebrate all over again!

TRY A DELICIOUS NEW RESTAURANT

Toronto wasn't included in the parts of the province that are moving to Stage 2, so restaurants aren’t exactly allowed to fully reopen just yet. But there are still lots of tasty new spots that we can enjoy takeout or delivery from. Check out this list!

VISIT THE EVERGREEN BRICK WORKS FARMERS' MARKET

The Evergreen Brick Works Farmers' Market opens this Saturday! Toronto's largest farmers' market, which offers the widest variety of local and seasonal food in the city, is now operating with a new model to promote a safe environment for visitors and their farmers. Same day purchases are welcome, but they strongly encourage online ordering so the experience is quicker for everyone. Visit their website to place your advance order and to review their new market guidelines, so you’re ready for market day.

DREAM ABOUT REAL ESTATE

Anyone else spending their time in quarantine dreaming about what’d it be like to be self-isolating in some of Toronto’s most luxurious real estate? No, just us? Well anyway, if you’d like a little dream-inspiration, you should check out this amazing Toronto listing. It’s the property that used to belong to Prince. And yes, it’s currently on the market.

GO CAMPING

Or if you wanna get out of the city all together, you can head to one of Ontario’s private campgrounds! A bunch of them will be reopening this weekend. So now’s the perfect time to take advantage.

CHECK OUT A SWIMMING HOLE OR TWO

And if you want to cool off as the weather gets warmer, you can head to one of these amazing swimming holes. They’re all in or around the city. So pack up your towel and make a whole day of it!

GET BIKING

We’ve all been trying to get more active since the social distancing started. Okay, that’s a lie. But we’ve all been pretending to try to get more active… So really, what’s the difference? Well, if you’d like to keep up the charade, you can take advantage #BikeShareTO. It’s a great way to get outside and get active. Plus, we heard they’re expanding soon…

CELEBRATE VIRTUAL PRIDE

Of course, we can’t forget that June is Pride Month, Toronto! So if you’d like to celebrate, you can head online this weekend! There’s tons of programming all weekend long, including activities, seminars, and more!

KEEP SUPPORTING THE BLM MOVEMENT

As weeks go by, it’s important not to loose momentum in the fight for racial equality in Toronto. The movement has already made a ton of great strides, but there’s still a long way to go. So this weekend is a great opportunity to get involved, or stay involved, in working toward a better tomorrow.

CHECK OUT GRAFFITI ALLEY

And speaking of the BLM Movement, a ton of new art has just been added to Graffiti Alley in support of it. So while you’re marching or signing petitions or raising awareness, be sure to stop by this iconic Toronto location to take a look.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone! And let us know which item on the list you’ll be doing first!
