It’s the first weekend of October which means we plan on going all out. There are so many wonderful ways to celebrate pumpkin spice season. From art exhibitions to film festivals to all the best fall activities, no matter what you’re into there’s sure to be something for you. So let’s go ahead and jump right into it!.

Here are 11 of the best things to do in Toronto this weekend!

JUSTICE COLLECTION AT ARTA GALLERY

Experience the abstract work of International Artist Mais Al-Sheikhly at this limited-time exhibition in the Distillery District. “Is There Justice” is an imaginative series exploring thought-provoking questions of the human experience. It’s completely free to attend. Plus, an artist meet-and-greet will be taking place throughout it’s entire week-long run.

TEN THOUSAND CLOWNS

Since we’re officially in Halloween month, we thought we’d through in a creepy art show to get you in the spirit. Ten Thousands Clowns is going on all weekend long. It features the works of 60 artists in over 100 original Clown-themed pieces. There will be special side show experiences, clown-inspired instillations, and even a funhouse for you to explore!

TAKE AN ONLINE BAKING CLASS

OAKTOBERFEST

The biggest LGBTQ+ film festival is celebrating it’s 30th birthday this year. So why not stop by a screening or two over the weekend? There will be films showcased from local and international artists alike. Plus, loads of awards given out and festival merchandise for you.

Nuit Blanche – City of Toronto

NUIT BLANCHE

The virtual version of Toronto’s most famous art festival is taking place over the weekend and you’ve got to get involved. Log on to experience works from all the best artists. The evening is divided into five categories: Nuit Talks, Nuit Live, Nuit in Your Neighbourhood, Nuit Podcasts, and Nuit History. It’s all right at your fingertips this Saturday night.

EXPERIENCE ACTIVETO

If you still haven’t hit the streets for ActiveTO, now’s the time to do it. The program was just extended into October and it’s a great way to get out there and enjoy the weather while it’s still nice. You can walk, run, bike, or roller blade down some of the best streets in the city. Plus, now that the leaves are changing colours, the routes are even more picturesque.

ENJOY BIGARTTO

Every weekend, a new corner of town will have gorgeous projected art for folks to enjoy. So as you pursue the streets this October, make sure you keep an eye out for that.
